Vancouver has been ranked as one of the most livable cities in the world and is a destination for many international conferences and events, including the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements in 1976 and the 1986 World Exposition on Transportation and Communication. The 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics will be held in Vancouver and nearby Whistler, a mountain town 125 km north of the city – So there’s lots going on in the next year in regards to the big build up and ultimately the Olympics event its self!

The city of Vancouver is also the perfect place for anyone who wants a city adventure with plenty of outdoor options to explore from hiking the local mountain trails in the beautiful rain forests, Kayaking the shorelines, cycling the beautiful seawall and even wildlife viewing on a Sea Safari or whale watching tour (though these are seasonal)

You could also visit the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife at Grouse Mountain and see the resident grizzly bears.. or simply spread out on the long stretches of sandy beaches..
