Wild Wing Restaurant, nr Brechin
Author: RockyIf you love trains, and love chicken the Wild Wing Restaurant near Brechin is the place for you! This was the first meal out on our first day in Canada this year – and we’d planned it for months – they do wings that good!
This small restaurant is located at a railroad crossing on Highway 12, east of lake Simcoe and being sat on a railroad crossing – it is themed in all things railroad! The actual restaurant has two railway cars behind it – converted into rooms to eat!
Wild Wing Restaurant
You’ll likely first see the restaurant by its unmistakable road sign
Now.. in the UK, unfortunately we don’t have restaurants that specialise in Wings.. so here’s some information so you know what to expect when you go!
Firstly – you eat wings with your fingers – this is normal! So, fun for your kids, and its great to let your hair down, not have to mess with knives and forks – besides, hands were invented before cutlery right?! If you can’t part with your knives and forks – don’t worry – they come readily available for you in the table centerpiece! .. Now, this centerpiece is wood, it also as you will see on one of the photos below has a large metal bucket over it .. and a large roll of what appears to be kitchen towel paper — this is exactly as you think it to be! The restaurant is kitted up for you to eat with your fingers.. and eating wings you’re going to have a lot of bones right? So put the tin bucket in the centre of the table and put the bones in the bucket. When (or if!) you want to use your eating utensils – use the paper towels and wet wipes to clean up your hands! That’s about it for the etiquette – so back onto the important stuff! – the Menu!
Tables set in a railway car, built onto the side of the resteraunt
Wild Wing Restaurants have an amazing menu.. In the UK, if you’re ordering wings, usually its a starter, and let’s face it – there are usually four or five, and an ant’s leg would have more meat on it.. Well this is not the case in Canada – inferior food is cut out completely.. Anything you see on the menu – will be of great quality and great quantity! So there’s no worry about you going away still peckish!
The menu here gives you the option of over 100 different flavours of wings – - all ranging from the regular – into hot wings — and going into fiery super hot wings! .. Now when i say hot wings, i don’t mean generic 50 of the same flavour with microscopic differences in the amount of chili powder in it – they truly are different flavours. One of my favourites is the Canadian flavour – which has maple syrup on them.. but there’s also dill pickle (gherkin) and jalapeno flavour – a good example of one of the unique flavours which you really must try!
Looking through the resteraunt from the railway car
While you’re here – don’t just buy your X lbs of wings, get some Gar par fries! – It’s fries (skins on) with special sauce and various other bits and pieces with it – seriously – don’t leave without getting some!

Hi roudy! i cant find it on their website neither @.@ — just looked- but i can tell
you how to find it ^^
head up highway 48 towards lake simcoe, you’ll also pass the cinedrive on
the left at pefferlaw which i did a post about
when you get to highway 12 – turn left and keep heading up – you’ll
eventually pass Beaverton, and while there there’s a mcdonalds, a Tim
Horton’s, subway and an independent grocer – which is our local supermarket
when we stay! – if you’re not driving – take a photo of it
Keep up that road (highway 12) and you’ll
find you cross over a railway – just before the NEXT crossing (a bit
further up the road, when it curves back round) is where the wild wing is
- on your left ^^
lemme know if you need more help and i’ll ring someone to see if i can find anything else out
